Gabrielle Smith, founder of Dragonfly Designs, has spent her life immersed in movement and performance. Born and raised in Washington, she began training at a young age in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and gymnastics, building a strong foundation in athleticism, musicality, and stage presence. At 20, she discovered Ballroom dance and quickly found her home on the competitive floor.

Today, Gabrielle competes in both International Latin and Theatre Arts Cabaret. Performing at a high level has given her firsthand insight into the unique demands dancers face. Costumes must move beautifully under stage lights, hairstyles must stay secure through powerful choreography, and makeup must last from the first step to the final bow.

Dragonfly Designs grew naturally from that experience. After years of navigating the challenges of finding performance wear and styling that truly works, Gabrielle began creating her own solutions. Her designs are shaped by the real needs of dancers and are crafted to be functional, durable, and ready for performance while still capturing the artistry and movement of dance. Like the dragonfly itself, her work reflects a balance of beauty, strength, and power, inspired by a creature known for its grace in motion and remarkable resilience.
